Windows Users Take Note! As Of October 14th Microsoft Will No Longer Support or Provide Updates for Earlier Versions of Windows OS including Windows 10

Option 1) (Best Option) Shop around for good deals on Windows 11 machines either laptops or desktops. Windows 11 is very stable and has built in security (TPM module) for encryption. No need for third party anti-virus. Shop around. You’ve still have time. Machines generally older than 10 years old and before Windows 7 (XP. 8.0, ME) should be replaced. Shop now as plrices will increase as demand nears...

Option 2) Upgrade Windows 10 unit (free). If you have Win 10 upgrade should be easy. Follow instructions on “SETTINGS-SECURITY/UPDATE -GET READY FOR WINDOWS 11”. Check to see if you have the encryption (TMP) module. Go to RUN (Windows Key +R) and type in “tpm.msc”. It will show either “not found” or display module type. (TMP motherboard module not necessary for install, but TMP will enhance security). Make sure updates are “up-to-date” before you try to install and BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA!

Windows claims Intel Core 2 processor and 4 GB RAM sufficient but who are we kidding :-) Intel 4 core and 8GB RAM is sure-fire. ANY MACHINE OLDER THAN 10 YEARS (Windows 7) EITHER THROW OUT OR INSTALL LINUX

Option 3) Microsoft is willing to extend W10 support and updates for one year if you register and pay them 30 dollars. (no comment!). Check out Microsoft site for details.

Option 4) Install fresh Windows 11 from Windows 11 ISO on MS site and save it to a flash drive with install media. Boot from flash drive to install.

Option 5) Windows LTSE thin client
